Organist
Simon began his musical training as a boy chorister at Truro Cathedral, UK, where he studied organ with Andrew Nethsingha, Simon Morley and Christopher Gray. He was Organ Scholar at Christ's College, Cambridge, and then spent consecutive years as Organ Scholar at Salisbury Cathedral and Westminster Abbey. He moved to the USA in 2007, and held positions at many prominent churches, most recently as Organist and Choirmaster at Grace and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Colorado Springs, CO. In 2017, he returned to his hometown of Truro as Acting Assistant Director of Music at Truro Cathedral, where he accompanied and directed the world-famous Cathedral Choir.
Simon has given organ concerts at many prestigious venues across the UK and US, including Westminster Cathedral; Washington National Cathedral; Saint Thomas Church, 5th Avenue, NYC; Trinity Church, Boston; and at the Aspen Musical Festival in Colorado. He has performed three organ concertos to date with the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs.
Simon is renowned for his work as a choral accompanist, and has played at such venues as St. Paul's Cathedral, London; Hereford Cathedral; Grace Cathedral, San Francisco; and St. John's Cathedral, Denver. He is featured as an organist on CD recordings by the Choir of Christ's College, Cambridge, Salisbury Cathedral, and the Yale Schola Cantorum.
Simon has an extensive organ repertoire of over 300 works, and is an accomplished improviser, both liturgically and in concert. He is an Associate of the Royal College of Organists.
