Conductor
Simon has a passion for conducting, and enjoys working with both amateur and professional ensembles. He received his Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and Yale School of Music, where he studied with Marguerite Brooks and Jeffrey Douma.
Simon has directed many choirs in both the US and the UK, including the Choir of Truro Cathedral; the Choir of Christ's College, Cambridge; the Yale Schola Cantorum; The Anglican Singers (New London, CT); and the Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble. He has enjoyed leading cathedral residencies with his choirs at Truro, Exeter, Ely, Norwich and Wells Cathedrals in the UK.
He also enjoys working with church, concert and school choir as a visiting clinician, and also as a substitute music director for the Fine Arts Center Theatre Company in Colorado Springs.
Simon is known for his expressive interpretations of choral repertoire, with particular emphasis on communicating the poetry of musical texts, as well as his attention to performance practice in all styles and developing healthy vocal technique.
